OFW charting a new course in real estate and community empowerment

Amidst the glittering skyline of Dubai, a young Filipino marketing maven is shaping the future of Filipinos looking to invest in their homeland. Mariah Karyll H. Latorza, at the tender age of 23, epitomizes the fusion of youthful zest and entrepreneurial spirit, carving a niche for herself and her compatriots in the expansive realm of real estate.

Latorza’s tale begins in the hallowed halls of Batangas State University, where she honed her prowess in development communication, graduating as Cum Laude—a testament to her dedication and intellect.

She shares with The Global Filipino Magazine, “I am most passionate about community engagements, which is why I pursued the said field.”

Her role as Marketing Manager at RHBC Commercial Brokers Co. L.L.C in Dubai serves as a continuum of her commitment to societal development.

Reflecting on her career trajectory, Latorza, who is also a pageant enthusiast and title holder, elucidates, “I started working in the real estate industry just a month ago in Bataan, right after that I was tasked to manage RHBC Commercial Brokers here in Dubai.”

This monumental role is not just a job—it’s a leap of faith, a stewardship she embraces with the fervor of someone who’s found their calling.

She fondly recounts her time as a Special Assistant for Special Events Management under the Governor of Oriental Mindoro, reminiscing about her role in hosting events and crafting communication materials that propelled local government projects.

Latorza’s narrative is one of diversity and dynamism, from orchestrating gubernatorial events to wielding the microphone as a freelance host and singer. Her most cherished endeavor, though, is her stint as the youth Chairperson of their Youth Ministry.

“This platform allowed me to positively influence the youth through different formation activities,” she states, her pride evident in her accomplishments.

Transitioning to Dubai was not without its tribulations.

“This has got to be the toughest decision I have ever made,” Latorza admits, divulging the weight of her choice to move abroad.

Her tenure abroad was preceded by offloading incidents that tested her resolve.

“It was a very disheartening experience for me,” she confides, but her CEO’s unwavering trust served as her beacon.

Latorza speaks of her previous employer’s appreciation, a sentiment that underscored the gravity of her departure towards the unknown.

Yet, it’s not just a story of struggles but one of unyielding support and indomitable spirit.

“During these trying times, I had my family, my friends, and my RHBC family,” she acknowledges.

Their support was her fortress against adversity, enabling her to persevere and ultimately thrive in her new role.

Looking ahead, Latorza envisions a future replete with entrepreneurial ventures and a commitment to guide her fellow Kabayans in smart investment practices, especially in real estate. Her plan is to sow seeds of wisdom and share the fruits of her labor with those who stood by her through thick and thin.

To her fellow overseas Filipinos, Latorza offers sagacious advice: “Always remember why you started.”

She urges them to be discerning in their associations and judicious with their finances. It is a mantra born of experience, reflective of her own journey’s highs and lows.
