Middle East Film & Comic Con (MEFCC) has added Marvel star Simu Liu to its growing guest list for its 2026 edition, set to take place from April 24 to 26 at the Abu Dhabi National Exhibition Centre (ADNEC).
The Chinese-Canadian actor, writer, and executive producer is best known for portraying Shang-Chi in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, becoming the franchise’s first Asian lead superhero. Liu has also appeared in the CBC sitcom Kim’s Convenience and the global box office hit Barbie.
Organizers said attendees will have the chance to meet Liu in person during the event, including opportunities for photo sessions and autographs.
Liu joins Christopher Judge, previously announced as MEFCC’s first English voice actor guest for next year’s festival.
MEFCC also confirmed the participation of Italian comic book artist Federico Vicentini, whose work includes titles such as Amazing Spider-Man, Wolverine, Falcon & Winter Soldier, and Imperial. He will be featured in the Comic Creators Club, which brings together international illustrators, writers, and other creative talents.
Another newly announced guest is American comic book artist Brett Breeding, who has worked on major Marvel and DC projects over nearly five decades, including storylines involving Superman, Spider-Man, and Thor.
Organizers said demand for MEFCC 2026 tickets has been strong, with Ultimate and Super VIP passes selling out within two days of being released.
The event will also feature multiple fan zones including the Gaming Arena, Bookworm Lounge, Tabletop Zone, and Collectors Gallery, along with the launch of a new Otaku District focused on modern Asian pop culture, including K-pop and anime.
Further guest announcements will be released through MEFCC’s official platforms, including www.mefcc.com and @mefcc.
