The Overseas Workers Welfare Administration (OWWA), in partnership with VidaCure, is promoting its Alagang OWWA Yakap at Gamot initiative as part of efforts to expand access to free cancer screening services under the PhilHealth YAKAP Program.
The program offers eligible individuals access to various cancer screening tests, including mammogram, breast ultrasound, low-dose chest CT scan, alpha fetoprotein, liver ultrasound, and colonoscopy.
OWWA said members may avail of the service by registering for the YAKAP Program through a YAKAP-accredited clinic using the eGovPH app, PhilHealth Portal, or any PhilHealth office. After registration, applicants must visit their chosen YAKAP clinic for a medical assessment conducted by a primary care doctor.
If necessary, the attending doctor will issue a Screening Test Request Form, which will serve as the referral document required for screening at an accredited facility.
OWWA also reminded the public that those who have already registered under other YAKAP clinics are not eligible to register again, noting that Alagang OWWA Yakap at Gamot has its own provider through VidaCure.
For those seeking services onsite, OWWA said its Alagang OWWA Botika and YAKAP medical consultation are available from Monday to Friday, 8 a.m. to 5 p.m., at the OWWA Center Building along F.B. Harrison Street in Pasay City, and at Regional Welfare Office II located at No. 13, Dalan na Pavvulurun, Carig Sur, Tuguegarao City.
Additional VidaCure clinic schedules were also posted, including Gateway Mall at Level 2, Gateway Tower in Araneta City, Quezon City, and Festival Mall at the UGF Main Mall of Festival Supermall in Alabang, Muntinlupa City, both operating from Monday to Saturday, 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.OWWA shares how OFWs can get free cancer screening and medical referrals
