Preparations for a large-scale government outreach to overseas Filipino workers in Dubai moved forward on January 9 with a coordination meeting involving senior officials from multiple Philippine agencies.
Hans Leo J. Cacdac led the courtesy call alongside Undersecretaries Dominique Rubia-Tutay and Jainal T. Rasul, with participation from Ambrosio Brian F. Enciso III and representatives of the Land Transportation Office. The meeting formed part of the final groundwork for the two-day Bagong Bayani ng Mundo: OFW Serbisyo Caravan (Leg 3) scheduled for January 10–11, 2026.
Officials focused on aligning responsibilities across agencies to ensure smoother service delivery during the caravan. Particular attention was given to defining which offices would handle specific concerns raised by overseas Filipino workers, including documentation requirements, medical insurance matters, and briefings on host-country laws and social norms.
The activity is being organized by the Department of Migrant Workers in partnership with other government units, as part of its continuing effort to bring frontline services directly to Filipinos working abroad.
Organizers are projecting a high turnout, with around 1,700 beneficiaries expected on the first day and approximately 1,500 on the second day. During the event, the Land Transportation Office is set to provide services such as driver’s license renewal, change of address processing, and updates to marital status records.
