The Philippine government has expressed concerns that two of its citizens missing in Israel may have been taken hostage by the militant group Hamas. Foreign Affairs Secretary Enrique Manalo made the announcement during a press conference on Monday.
Manalo mentioned, “We are looking at the condition of hostages, we assume they are, and we are exerting all effort to locate them.”
When questioned about Israel’s confirmation on the matter, Secretary Manalo did not provide a direct response.
Instead, he elaborated on the ongoing efforts, stating, “We assume they are hostages because they are unaccounted for. We are working on that and seeking help.”
