Alexander Bernardo from the Philippines, representing Toga Café, took center stage this Friday, as he was crowned the champion of the seventh UAE AeroPress Coffee Championship 2023. The esteemed competition, attracting coffee aficionados globally, was hosted at the Dubai Multi Commodities Center (DMCC).
Over three days of intense competition, Bernardo’s exceptional skills shone the brightest, securing him the top honor. Following closely were Omani competitor Maitha Al Ghailani in second place, and Rizana Razmi of DRVN Coffee from Sri Lanka in third.
As a reward for their prowess, the winners are set to represent the UAE at the 2023 AeroPress World Championship Finals in Melbourne, Australia this December.
Saeed Al Suwaidi, Director of Agricultural Commodities at DMCC, praised the championship’s continuous growth and its impact on the global coffee scene. He stressed DMCC’s commitment to strengthening the local coffee community and the event’s role in unveiling budding talents.
Garfield Kerr, CEO of Mokha 1450 and the event’s organizer, also lauded the participants and the heightened significance of this year’s championship. He particularly congratulated Bernardo, Al Ghailani, and Razmi on their achievements.
