UAE: Zayed Charity Run to start on Al Reem Island with AED1 million prize

The renowned Zayed Charity Run is set to begin on November 25 at Al Reem Island in Abu Dhabi, boasting a prize pool of Dh1 million. This year’s proceeds are dedicated to supporting innovative cancer treatments provided by the Abu Dhabi Stem Cells Centre.

Having started in Abu Dhabi in 2001, the charitable event has expanded its international presence, with races held in New York since 2005 and Egypt from 2014 onwards. Participants can choose from three distinct race lengths: 3km, 5km, and 10km, with official routes to be unveiled shortly.

Major General Mohammed Hilal Al Kaabi, Chairman of the Supreme Organising Committee of the Zayed Charity Marathon, emphasised the race’s growth and global impact. “This run not only promotes goodwill and humanitarian aid but also pays tribute to the late Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan’s legacy. His deep commitment to the welfare of humanity, particularly cancer patients, resonates through this race,” stated Al Kaabi.
