Police officer identified as person of interest in missing pageant candidate case

The Philippine National Police (PNP) in Calabarzon revealed on Thursday that a police officer is now a person of interest in the disappearance of Miss Grand Philippines 2023 candidate, Catherine Camilon.

Police Brig. Gen. Paul Kenneth Lucas, acting regional director of Calabarzon Police Regional Office, confirmed that the officer was allegedly in a romantic relationship with Camilon.

Further insights came from Camilon’s sister, Ching-Ching, who received a message, reportedly from Camilon’s close friend, naming the police officer. Lucas also shared that the officer provided Camilon with the vehicle she last used and had arranged to meet her on the day she vanished.

The police officer has since been removed from his position pending a full investigation. Camilon, whose disappearance was reported by her family on October 17, was last spotted on October 12.
