DILG says no Interpol red notice issued for Sen. Bato dela Rosa

The Department of the Interior and Local Government (DILG) clarified on Saturday that the Philippine government has not received any Interpol red notice against Senator Ronald “Bato” dela Rosa.

DILG Secretary Jonvic Remulla told the Inquirer that “as per the Center for Transnational Crimes, they have not received any red notice as of today.” The agency, which supervises the Philippine Center on Transnational Crime, serves as the country’s primary liaison with Interpol.

The clarification followed earlier remarks by Ombudsman Jesus Crispin “Boying” Remulla—Jonvic’s brother—who said during a dzRH radio interview that the International Criminal Court (ICC) had issued an arrest warrant against Dela Rosa.

Dela Rosa, who served as chief of the Philippine National Police during the onset of the Duterte administration’s anti-drug campaign in 2016, has been under scrutiny for his role in the operations that left thousands dead.

An Interpol red notice is an international request to locate and provisionally arrest a wanted person pending extradition or other legal actions. As of now, no such notice has been transmitted in relation to the senator.
