A tragic accident on Al Dhaid Road claimed the life of a 12-year-old Emirati boy on Tuesday evening, Sharjah Police reported. The incident occurred during a heavy downpour in the central region of the Sharjah emirate.
According to police statements, the driver attempted to maneuver around a pool of water but lost control. The vehicle subsequently swerved and rolled over multiple times. Due to the force of the crash, the boy was ejected from the vehicle.
Upon their arrival at the scene, emergency services transported the boy to Al Dhaid Hospital where he was unfortunately pronounced dead upon arrival. The driver, who sustained minor injuries, was also admitted to the hospital.
In light of this tragic event, Sharjah Police are reminding the public to exercise caution when driving in adverse weather conditions and to always adhere to posted speed limits.
