The Bureau of Customs (BoC) has dismissed circulating social media posts alleging that one of the luxury cars seized from the Discaya family—a Rolls-Royce—was being driven around Metro Manila.
Customs Commissioner Ariel Nepomuceno clarified on Tuesday that the claim was “false and misleading,” assuring the public that all 30 confiscated luxury vehicles remain under strict security.
“The said Rolls-Royce, along with other luxury vehicles confiscated from the Discaya family, are securely stored under the strict supervision of the customs police, safeguarded by physical barriers, security personnel, and inventory controls that prevent any unauthorized access, movement, or release,” Nepomuceno said.
He explained that the vehicle seen in the viral video bore a different plate number—NFG 1949—while the seized Rolls-Royce linked to the Discaya case ends in 889.
Nepomuceno emphasized that no seized property can be released or moved without proper authorization and complete documentation.
