The Department of Migrant Workers Regional Office VII (DMW RO-VII) distributed ₱840,000 in financial assistance to overseas Filipino workers (OFWs) and their families during a financial awareness seminar held on October 25, 2025, in Central Visayas.
The event, titled “Basta OFW, May K!”, aimed to strengthen financial literacy and sustainable reintegration for returning OFWs. It emphasized three core values — kaalam (knowledge-building), kabuhayan (livelihood), and kalinga (welfare and psychosocial support).
Of the total amount, ₱240,000 was distributed to 12 beneficiaries under the Sa Pinas, Ikaw ang Ma’am at Sir (SPIMS) program, ₱400,000 went to 40 beneficiaries through the Livelihood Program for OFW Reintegration (LPOR), and ₱200,000 was provided to two recipients under the Agarang Kalinga at Saklolo para sa mga OFW na Nangangailangan (Aksyon) Fund.
Through this initiative, DMW RO-VII seeks not only to extend direct financial support but also to equip OFWs and their families with knowledge and skills to improve their financial well-being and ensure long-term livelihood stability.
