Former senator Antonio Trillanes IV announced plans to file a plunder complaint against Senator Bong Go, alleging that the family-owned company of Go received P7 billion worth of government projects during the administration of former president Rodrigo Duterte.
Trillanes said Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) records showed that CLTG Builders—owned by Go’s father and brother—along with construction firms linked to the Discaya family, secured multiple contracts for road, flood control, and farm-to-market projects in Davao during Duterte’s term.
He also cited a public statement by Sarah Discaya, who admitted her construction business grew significantly beginning in 2016. “Do you think they would have gotten P7 billion without the influence of Duterte and Go? They are closely tied,” Trillanes said in a DZMM interview.
Ombudsman Jesus Crispin Remulla earlier remarked that the Discayas and Senator Go appeared to be “well protected,” adding that a DPWH investigation is underway into the alleged ties between the Discaya group and the Go family firms.
Senator Go has denied any involvement in the awarding of the projects, saying he never influenced government agencies to favor his relatives. He also maintained that he has no concern if the Discayas face legal action.
