At just 11 years old, she already spends most of her week on horseback, training, competing, and dreaming big. Ara-Bella Manaloto Bramley, known on Instagram as @inthatsaddle, is a young show jumper based in Dubai who proudly rides under the Philippine flag. Half-Filipina and half-British, this bright and determined equestrian has quickly made her mark in the UAE’s competitive riding scene—an impressive journey that began from an unexpected accident that led her to discover her passion.
From a simple pony ride to a life-changing passion
Ara-Bella’s story began two and a half years ago during a family holiday in Dubai. “My mum and dad took me out on holiday in a villa in Dubai. I jumped in the swimming pool and I cut my knee, so we moved villas and ended up in Al Habtoor Polo Resort—and it was full of horses,” she shared with TGFM. “After a few days there, I asked if I can ride a pony. After the pony ride, I wanted to try riding lessons badly, so Mum and Dad got me my first riding lesson at Al Habtoor Polo Riding School.”

What started as a casual pony ride has now become a full-fledged pursuit of excellence. Today, Ara-Bella rides six days a week—seven, if only her parents would allow it. “I most enjoy the feeling of just riding,” she said. “But I especially love jumping—it’s just amazing.”
Her commitment and natural talent didn’t go unnoticed. She earned the Rising Star Award at Al Habtoor Equestrian, a recognition that reflected not only her skill but also her dedication and humility. “I felt special and very grateful. Everyone supporting me helped me accomplish that,” she said.
Inspired by love, family, and faith
Behind Ara-Bella’s growing achievements are the people who believe in her the most—her family and mentors. “My mum and dad inspire me so much for how much they believe in me,” she said. “Also, all my trainers who have been there for me for 2.5 years, especially Mariano Vasquez.”

Her parents, who manage a preowned luxury business in Dubai, are hands-on in supporting her passion, balancing both their family and business life while nurturing their daughter’s dreams. It’s not unusual to see her father giving her a boost—literally—before each competition. “I pray before my competition and thank everyone in it, and I know that God will be with me. Most importantly, before I get on my horse, my dad gives me a leg up, puts my left foot in the stirrup, and pats me on the leg,” she shared.
Her faith also grounds her, reminding her to stay grateful no matter the outcome of every competition. “God will be with me,” she says with a quiet confidence, a reflection of her maturity and humility despite her young age.
Riding for the Philippines
A student at The Arbor School in Dubai, Ara-Bella balances her academic life with the demanding schedule of an athlete. She competes in national events across the UAE, showing not only skill but discipline beyond her years. Her most memorable moment so far, she says, was when she took part in her first outdoor national show jumping competition in Sharjah. “The feeling was so good,” she recalled.

Now, Ara-Bella is preparing for an even bigger stage. With her official registration secured with the Philippines, she is set to represent the country internationally starting January 2026. She’s also thrilled to continue her training with her new horse, Knoxville. “I don’t have a favorite horse because all of them have taught me so much, but I am so excited for the journey with new horse Knoxville, who I will hopefully compete with internationally in January 2026,” she shared.
For Ara-Bella, this next chapter means more than medals or recognition—it’s about pride, growth, and inspiring other young Filipinos. “Winning international competitions and doing a lap of honor on my new horse Knoxville,” she said, when asked about her biggest dream.
