How to get your OFW Travel Pass using the eGovPH app

The Department of Migrant Workers (DMW) has made travel preparations easier for returning overseas Filipino workers (OFWs) by introducing the OFW Travel Pass, a digital document that replaces the paper-based Overseas Employment Certificate (OEC). Accessible through the eGovPH Super App, this innovation streamlines documentation and exit clearance processes for balik-manggagawa workers—those returning to the same employer and job overseas.

According to the DMW, the OFW Travel Pass serves as a digital pass for both documentation and exit clearance, allowing workers to process their travel requirements using only their smartphones.

Below is a step-by-step guide on how to access your OFW Travel Pass through the eGovPH app.

Step 1: Download the eGovPH app

Start by downloading the eGovPH Super App from either the Google Play Store or the Apple App Store.
Once installed, create a new account using a valid email address and mobile number. This will serve as your primary login credential when accessing government services.

The eGovPH app, developed by the Department of Information and Communications Technology (DICT), serves as a unified platform that integrates multiple government services—including those from the Department of Migrant Workers (DMW)—into one digital hub.

Step 2: Navigate to the DMW section

After logging in, go to the app’s main interface and select the NGA (National Government Agencies) tab.
From there, tap on DMW, and then choose Balik-Manggagawa.

This section connects you directly to DMW’s online services dedicated to overseas Filipino workers. It’s where you’ll manage your work-related documentation, particularly for returning workers.

Step 3: Access your Travel Pass

On the homepage, tap the Balik-Manggagawa tab. You’ll then see your Travel Pass profile displayed on the screen—complete with a QR code that acts as your digital exit clearance.

This QR code replaces the traditional OEC and can be presented at immigration or airport checkpoints as proof of clearance. The digital format ensures faster processing, reduced paperwork, and better data integration with DMW’s monitoring system.

Moving toward a fully digital system

DMW Secretary Hans Leo Cacdac earlier confirmed that the integration of the OEC into the eGovPH Super App is currently in its pilot run, with full implementation expected before or by early 2026.

“Pina-pilot run ngayon yan, and hopefully, by the first day of next year or even possibly earlier, depending on the pilot run, ay maging ganap na siya talaga,” Cacdac said.

He emphasized that once the system becomes fully operational, even newly hired workers may be able to use the same digital platform.

Cacdac added that the new system consolidates all documentation requirements for OFWs:
“Nag-merge na ang e-travel pass at OEC. E-travel pass na ngayon. Basta may eTravel pass ang worker at cleared siya sa DMW, yun na yung pinakadokumento.”
