Unified GCC tourist visa approved for 2024-25 rollout, says UAE minister

A unified tourist visa for the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) countries has received approval, paving the way for its introduction as early as 2024, the United Arab Emirates’ Minister of Economy, Abdullah bin Touq Al Marri, announced.

This landmark decision came during a GCC ministers’ meeting in Muscat. This Schengen-style visa will allow tourists to traverse the six GCC member countries – the UAE, Saudi Arabia, Bahrain, Qatar, Oman, and Kuwait – with just one visa.

The specifics of the visa rollout will be discussed in the forthcoming month. The exact launch date will be determined once the implementation rules are finalized, which could be in 2024 or 2025, Al Marri mentioned to the state news agency, Wam.
