Dubai Police have arrested two Asian men in a major anti-narcotics operation, code-named “Villa,” that exposed an international drug network using a residential villa as its base of operations.
Brigadier Khalid bin Muwaiza, Director of the General Department of Anti-Narcotics, said the successful bust reflects Dubai Police’s unwavering vigilance in protecting communities from the dangers of illegal drugs. He emphasized that the force remains determined to dismantle criminal networks “attempting to spread their poisons among young people.”
Authorities launched the operation after receiving intelligence about a gang promoting drugs from inside a villa. A specialized task force carried out days of surveillance and field monitoring before luring one of the suspects into a controlled trap. The man later confessed and identified his partner, leading officers to a second sting operation where the accomplice was caught red-handed while packaging narcotics.
The raid led to the seizure of 40 kilograms of drugs, including ketamine, crystal meth, marijuana, hashish oil, and other chemical substances.
Investigations revealed that the duo were acting under orders from a trafficker based outside the UAE, who orchestrated the distribution network remotely.
Brig. bin Muwaiza credited the success of the operation to Dubai Police’s integration of artificial intelligence tools with the expertise of highly trained officers. He reaffirmed that law enforcement will continue to target those seeking to undermine public safety and called on residents to report suspicious activities through the 901 hotline or via the “Police Eye” service on the Dubai Police Smart App.
