Imee Marcos leaves Senate group chat after clash with Ping Lacson

Senator Imee Marcos took to Facebook on October 2 to hit back at Senate President Pro Tempore Ping Lacson after he advised her to attend hearings and read group chats on the flood control probe to avoid confusion.

“Bakit?

She criticized her colleagues for what she described as political bickering instead of solidarity.

Marcos went on to cite her legislative work, including the passage of three laws, while accusing other senators of being “busy sa pang-aapi sa kapwa senador.”

The clash stemmed from Marcos’ earlier remarks expressing confusion over the Blue Ribbon Committee’s ongoing probe into alleged anomalous flood control projects. She questioned whether the committee would still hold hearings or if a partial report from Lacson would be released instead.

In response, Lacson clarified that former Ako Bicol Rep. Zaldy Co and former House Speaker Martin Romualdez will be invited to the next hearing. He also urged Marcos to participate in the proceedings.
