The Philippine colors flew proudly through the streets of Kazakhstan as members of the Pinoy Runners Group (PRG) Abu Dhabi joined thousands of athletes at the Almaty Marathon, Central Asia’s largest running event.
The race, which drew participants from more than 50 countries, turned into more than just a test of endurance for the Filipinos—it became a moment of representation and pride. Carrying the national flag, the PRG delegation showcased the unity and determination of overseas Filipinos on one of the region’s biggest sporting stages.
A cultural and athletic milestone
Set against the scenic backdrop of the snow-capped Tien Shan mountains, the Almaty Marathon brought together elite competitors and recreational runners alike. For PRG, the journey from Abu Dhabi to Kazakhstan went beyond competition. Each stride was dedicated to the resilience and passion that define the Filipino community abroad.
