Actress and vlogger Mika Salamanca has spoken up after facing backlash for her friendship with Veronica “Kitty” Duterte, daughter of former President Rodrigo Duterte.
The Pinoy Big Brother: Celebrity Collab Edition Big Winner issued an apology to her followers, admitting regret over what she called her “questionable choices of friends.” She emphasized, however, that her political beliefs remain unchanged.
“I stand, and will always stand with the people,” Salamanca declared, stressing that she has spoken out on issues based on her convictions, regardless of who she was seen with.
Salamanca has been vocal on civic matters in recent months, notably joining anti-corruption protests on September 21 alongside other young influencers. She carried a sign that read, “Wala, ninakaw nila” in reference to allegations of misuse of public funds in flood control projects.
