Dubai, known globally for its towering skyscrapers like the Burj Khalifa, has added another feather to its cap with the inauguration of the world’s highest rooftop running track.
Dubai’s real estate mogul, Wasl, has been officially recognized by Guinness World Records for establishing the ‘Highest Running Track on a Building’. Named ‘Sky Track’, this landmark is perched atop the 43rd floor of ‘1 Residences’, a part of the opulent Wasl1 master development in Zabeel. The track spans 335m and sits 157m above ground, offering fitness aficionados a workout with a breathtaking view.
Runners and walkers on the ‘Sky Track’ will be treated to panoramic vistas of Dubai’s most iconic landmarks, including the Burj Khalifa, Zabeel Park, The Dubai Frame, Sheikh Zayed Road, the historic parts of Dubai, and the mesmerizing Arabian Gulf.
Wasl’s ambitious project aligns with the booming global fitness trend and reflects Dubai’s enthusiasm for promoting a healthy and active lifestyle, as evident from popular community events like the 30-day Dubai Fitness Challenge.
Hesham Al Qassim, Wasl’s CEO, expressed his pride in contributing another world record to Dubai. He emphasized the uniqueness of ‘1 Residences’ and praised its role in embodying the leadership’s vision of excellence in every field.
Talal Omar from Guinness World Records lauded the feat, highlighting it as a testament to both architectural brilliance and human aspiration. “This track is not just an engineering marvel but signifies Dubai’s undying spirit to always aim higher,” Omar stated.
It’s noteworthy that this isn’t Wasl’s first tryst with Guinness World Records. The company had previously earned recognition in 2018 for creating the ‘Largest Aerial Projection Screen’ during the ‘Year of Zayed’ celebrations.
