Dubai Police have arrested seven Asian suspects linked to a drug trafficking network operating under the direction of a trafficker based outside the country. The group allegedly specialized in hiding and promoting narcotics across different locations to evade law enforcement.
Brigadier Khalid Bin Muwaiza, Director of the General Department of Anti-Narcotics, said the operation was the result of “extensive investigations, enquiries, and meticulous field surveillance,” where police closely tracked the suspects’ movements and coordination.
Police stormed the residence of the first suspect, where officers discovered crystal meth in his possession. According to Bin Muwaiza, the man had been instructed by a trafficker abroad to distribute two separate kilogramme packages of drugs.
“We set up a tight trap which led to the arrest of the remaining six suspects, including those who placed the drugs in the locations and those who came to collect the hidden quantities,” he said.
Authorities later confirmed the gang worked with an international network and concealed narcotics in various locations as part of their distribution strategy. The total haul included nearly 26 kilogrammes of drugs and 27,913 Tramadol tablets, comprising crystal meth, hashish, heroin, and marijuana.
Bin Muwaiza underscored that the success of the operation reflects Dubai Police’s advanced methods, which combine artificial intelligence technology with skilled personnel to confront crime “with efficiency and professionalism.” He stressed that the force would not hesitate to pursue criminals and traffickers—even those outside the country—who attempt to threaten community security.
Police urged the public to report suspicious activities or messages through the call centre at 901 or the “Police Eye” service on the Dubai Police smart application.
