Registration opens for the iconic Dubai Run 2023; 200,000 participants expected

The much-anticipated Dubai Run 2023 is now open for registration, as announced by the Department of Economy and Tourism and the Dubai Sports Council on Tuesday. Celebrating its fifth edition, the event is set to take place on November 26 and is expected to attract over 200,000 participants.

As a major highlight of the Dubai Fitness Challenge (DFC), the Dubai Run has made a name for itself as the world’s largest free fun run. This year, runners will have the opportunity to race through the heart of Dubai, with the iconic Sheikh Zayed Road and Downtown Dubai setting the backdrop.

Registration is entirely free and can be completed on dubairun.com. Those who register will have their bibs and t-shirts, sponsored by Sun & Sand Sports, available for collection at DFC’s new Run and Ride Central located at One Central.

The event welcomes everyone, irrespective of age, fitness level, or running experience. The 2022 edition witnessed a staggering 193,000 participants, with this year poised to surpass that number.

Runners can choose between two routes:

  • 5km Downtown Family Route: Starting near the Museum of the Future, it takes runners past landmarks like the Dubai Opera, Dubai Mall, and the towering Burj Khalifa. It’s a favorite for families and runners of all experiences.
  • 10km Sheikh Zayed Road Route: Aimed at more seasoned runners, this route stretches from Sheikh Zayed Road to the Dubai Canal, looping back to conclude at Al Mustaqbal Street near the Dubai International Financial Centre.
