Axel Nocom to represent the Philippines in Asia Pacific Motorsports Championship in Sri Lanka

Filipino karting phenom Axel Nocom is set to once again carry the Philippine flag onto the international racing stage—this time at the Asia Pacific Motorsports Championship (APMC) to be held from September 25 to 28, 2025 in Speed Bay, Sri Lanka.

At only 13 years old, Axel has already made history in global karting circuits. He recently became the first Filipino to secure a podium finish in Japan’s premier Autobacs GPR karting series and ranked Top 10 in the Champions of the Future Academy (COTFA) Round 3 at Italy’s legendary Pista Azzurra—a circuit known for shaping legends like Senna and Schumacher. There, Axel rose to P2 before finishing 9th in a final filled with red flags and epic battles.

Now, Axel is gearing up to compete in the X30 Junior category of APMC, a biannual event backed by the FIA and recognized as one of the region’s most competitive platforms for young racers across Asia-Pacific. Over 25 countries—including motorsport powerhouses like Japan, Australia, and Malaysia—are expected to send their best young talents.

The upcoming race is more than a competition—it’s a chance for Axel to further showcase the world-class skill and resilience of Filipino athletes in motorsports. With the support of Front Row Racing and a growing fanbase back home, Axel continues to break barriers and inspire a new generation of young Filipino drivers.
