Philippine Airlines named Asia-Pacific’s most punctual airline for August 2025

Philippine Airlines (PAL) has once again claimed the top spot as the most punctual carrier in the Asia-Pacific region, according to aviation analytics firm Cirium’s On-Time Performance (OTP) Monthly Report for August 2025.

The flag carrier recorded an impressive 89.37 percent on-time arrival rate, with 9,628 flights tracked during the month. Cirium also noted that 99.85 percent of PAL’s scheduled flights were covered in the monitoring, a remarkably high data coverage rate that underscores the reliability of the ranking.

What “on-time” means

Under Cirium’s industry standard, a flight is considered “on-time” if it arrives within 15 minutes of its scheduled gate arrival time. This benchmark allows airlines across the globe to be measured fairly, whether they operate short-haul or long-haul flights.

The report revealed that PAL outperformed major regional competitors in August, cementing its position as the most punctual full-service carrier in Asia-Pacific.

Not the first time

This isn’t the first time PAL topped the charts. Earlier this year, in April 2025, PAL also ranked #1 in the region with an 86.07 percent OTP. The airline has since been consistent in making punctuality a key part of its service identity.
