Barkadahan Food Hub opens its doors in Dubai, serving a fusion of Filipino flavors

The Filipino community in Dubai celebrated a delicious milestone as Barkadahan Food Hub officially opened its doors on August 30, 2025, bringing a vibrant mix of classic and fusion Filipino dishes to the heart of Al Barsha 1.

Located at Barsha Souq 4, Shop No. 3—conveniently near Insurance Market Station, Exit 1—the new food destination aims to be a go-to spot for anyone craving comforting Filipino meals or looking to share a hearty feast with friends and family.

The grand opening was graced by a mix of diplomatic and community leaders, signaling strong support for Filipino entrepreneurship in the UAE. Among those who attended were Philippine Consul General Marford Angeles, Maryam Delim, publisher of The Global Filipino Magazine, community leader and PBS Past Chair Bobbie Carella, and media advocate Josie Conlu.

Owners Mary Edelweiss and Marston Go warmly welcomed guests and shared their excitement in launching a concept that pays homage to Filipino culinary heritage while also offering a modern twist to traditional favorites.

True to its name, Barkadahan Food Hub is designed for groups—or “barkadas”—to enjoy meals together, though solo diners will feel just as at home. The expansive menu covers everything from silog classics like Tocilog and Bangsilog, to hearty Filipino stews and grilled favorites.

The Barkadahan Feast Platters, perfect for sharing, featuring Pancit Bihon, Tapsilog, Cornbeefsilog, and the show-stopping Seafood Cajun bucket.

Signature Filipino mains like Kare-Kare, Sinigang, Bistek Tagalog, Laing, and Kaldereta.

Sizzling plates including Chicken and Beef Sisig, and Garlic Pepper Beef.

Grilled delights like Chicken Inasal, Grilled Bangus, Isaw, and Chicken BBQ skewers.

All-time comfort food: Lomi, Goto, Arrozcaldo, and Cebu Steamed Rice.

Sweet endings with Halo-Halo and Tropical Fruit Salad, plus Filipino-style pastas and frappes.

Diners can also sip on a wide range of drinks—from espresso-based coffee and matcha lattes to fun mocktails like Mango Lemon Sparkler and Virgin Mojito.

Food and fun, all in one place

With its tagline “Good Times | Great Food”, the restaurant aims to create a welcoming space where OFWs, tourists, and multicultural diners can enjoy Filipino flavors in a casual and friendly setting.
