Andi Eigenmann has spoken out after receiving unsolicited remarks about her children’s appearance, saying she would rather see them “messy from living fully” than “clean from sitting still.”
The actress and content creator shared a video of her children, Lilo and Koa, happily picking flowers on their way to preschool in Siargao. Dressed in simple shirts, shorts, and slippers with colorful backpacks, the siblings appeared carefree and content.
However, the clip drew comments from netizens criticizing the children for supposedly looking “madungis” (dirty). This prompted Eigenmann to address the issue directly through Instagram Stories.
“The amount of people who comment about my kids looking madungis (dirty)… are most likely the same type of people who have children stuck on their iPads all day, eating fast/ junk food for all three mealtimes (and probably more), and then throw huge fits whenever things don’t go their way,” she said.
She emphasized that parenting is never perfect but firmly added: “No parent is perfect, but I’d rather mine be messy from living fully, than clean from sitting still and being disconnected from it.”
Many parents in the comments echoed her sentiments, praising her for encouraging a childhood rooted in real experiences rather than screen time.
Eigenmann shares Lilo and Koa with fiancé Philmar Alipayo. She also has an older daughter, Ellie, with actor Jake Ejercito.
