Police arrest stabbing suspect in Naga City within five minutes of report

A swift five-minute police response led to the arrest of a stabbing suspect in Barangay Triangulo over the weekend, authorities confirmed.

Police Regional Office-5 Director Brig. Gen. Nestor Babagay Jr. said the victim, identified only as “Mark,” 27, from Barangay Tabugo, survived after being stabbed in the chest by the suspect, “Arnulfo,” 44. Responding officers immediately subdued the attacker and rushed the wounded man to the Bicol Medical Center.

Investigators later revealed that the motive behind the attack was revenge, after the victim allegedly hurt the suspect’s brother the day before.

In a statement, the Naga City Police Station stressed that the quick response demonstrates their duty to safeguard the community. “This is not just a policy but a concrete implementation of our sworn duty to protect and serve the people, because in the new Philippines, what the police want is (that) you are safe,” the statement read.

Authorities are urging the public to remain vigilant and promptly report crimes or suspicious activities to ensure faster response and greater protection for residents.
