Being an Overseas Filipino Worker (OFW) often means long hours on the job, but it also comes with stretches of free time—whether during rest days, quiet nights, or breaks. Instead of letting those hours go idle, you can turn them into an opportunity for personal growth and career advancement through TESDA’s Online Program (TOP). The best part? It’s completely free and accessible wherever you are in the world.
Step 1: Visit the TESDA Online Program website
Start by going to the official TESDA Online Program site: e-tesda.gov.ph
. This is the platform where all free courses are hosted. The website is open to everyone, including Filipinos abroad, so you won’t need a Philippine address to sign up.
Step 2: Create your account
Click “New Account” on the homepage and fill in your details such as:
Full name
Email address
Desired username and password
Current location
TESDA will send you a confirmation email. Open it and click the activation link to verify your account. Once done, you’re officially ready to explore.
Step 3: Browse and pick a course
TESDA offers over 150 free courses across different industries. Some popular categories include:
Information Technology (e.g., Computer Systems Servicing, Web Development)
Tourism and Hospitality (e.g., Housekeeping, Food and Beverage Services)
Entrepreneurship and Business Management
Language and Communication Skills
Electronics and Automotive Servicing
Lifelong learning like Digital Literacy and Financial Education
Since you’re abroad, you might want to start with courses that match your current work or future career plans. You can also explore completely new skills you’ve always wanted to learn.
Step 4: Enroll and learn at your own pace
Click “Enroll me in this course” to join. TESDA’s system is self-paced, meaning you can log in anytime—whether during your day off, after your shift, or even while commuting. Lessons are structured with modules, videos, and quizzes to check your understanding.
If you prefer using your phone, TESDA also has a mobile app available on the Google Play Store, so you can study on the go.
Step 5: Complete the course and get your certificate
After finishing the modules, you’ll receive a Certificate of Completion, which you can download and print. This is useful for updating your resume, showing your employer, or simply tracking your learning progress.
If you want a National Certificate (NC) or Certificate of Competency, you’ll need to take a face-to-face assessment at a TESDA-accredited assessment center when you return to the Philippines. This step is optional, but it’s highly valuable if you want formal recognition of your skills.
