The Philippine Embassy in Qatar has unveiled a special exhibit showcasing nationalist poems that capture the country’s revolutionary spirit and enduring fight for freedom.
Launched on August 17, 2025, at the Embassy Chancery, the exhibit titled “Wika Bilang Pagtutol: Pagpapahayag ng Anti-kolonyal na Pakikibaka sa Pamamagitan ng Tula” (Text as Resistance: Articulating the Anti-colonial Struggle through Poetry) highlights works by renowned Filipino writers and heroes. It forms part of the Embassy’s commemoration of National Heroes Day, Buwan ng Wikang Pambansa, and Buwan ng Kasaysayan this August.
In his welcome remarks, Philippine Ambassador to Qatar, H.E. Mardomel Celo D. Melicor, emphasized the power of language in shaping the nation’s identity and resilience.
The exhibit, which is open to the public, will run at the Embassy’s Consular Area until August 28, 2025.
