Nadia Montenegro denies marijuana use in alleged Senate restroom incident

An incident report has surfaced linking former actress and Senate staff member Nadia Montenegro to an alleged marijuana odor inside the Senate building in Pasay City — a claim she firmly denies.

The report, dated August 13, detailed that Victor Patelo, a Senate security officer, was alerted by a staffer from Sen. Panfilo Lacson’s office about an “unusual odor” coming from the ladies’ comfort room near the Senators’ extension offices. The staffer reportedly believed the smell resembled marijuana and noted that Montenegro was the only person in the area at the time.

Patelo said he discreetly approached Montenegro, who denied smoking or using marijuana but admitted having a vape in her bag, suggesting it could have produced the scent in question.

Sen. Robin Padilla’s chief of staff, Atty. Rudolf Philip Jurado, confirmed that Montenegro works in their office and said she has been asked to submit a written explanation within five days. Calling the issue a “classic example of fake news,” Jurado stressed the need to review her side before making conclusions.

Meanwhile, Senate Sergeant-at-Arms Police Maj. Gen. Mao Aplasca confirmed that his office has forwarded an investigation report to the Office of the Senate President, noting that it differs from the initial incident account.
