Student attacks teacher just for losing two exam points

A violent outburst at a private school in Ban Rai district, Uthai Thani, has left a mathematics teacher injured after a Grade 11 student attacked her for not giving him a perfect midterm exam score.

The August 5 incident began when the student, aiming for flawless grades to boost his police academy application, received 18 out of 20 marks. His answers were correct, but the teacher deducted points for not showing the required solution steps. After failing to get the decision reversed, he confronted the teacher again, demanding an apology. When she refused, he launched into a physical assault.

Several female students quickly intervened, shielding the teacher and stopping the attack. Despite their efforts, the teacher suffered a bruised eye, head swelling, and rib inflammation, requiring hospital treatment.

School officials later confirmed the student had a history of aggression, including a previous assault on a female classmate. Following the latest incident, legal action was filed under Thailand’s Child and Juvenile Law, and the student has been suspended, with plans to withdraw.

The teacher has vowed to return to the classroom once she has fully recovered, both physically and emotionally. The case has sparked public concern over student violence, academic pressure, and the urgent need for better conflict resolution in schools.
