Emiratis with expiring or new passports can now get them renewed or issued in just five minutes, thanks to a new fast-track service rolled out by the Federal Authority for Identity, Citizenship, Customs & Port Security (ICP).
According to Gulf Today, the service is now available 24/7 at all airports across the UAE, allowing Emirati travelers to complete the process while at the airport—ideal for those who discover last-minute that their passport is about to expire or lacks the required six-month validity for international travel.
The initiative is part of the UAE’s broader effort to enhance government services and deliver seamless, tech-driven solutions to its citizens. Aside from airport kiosks, passport applications can also be completed online via the ICP’s official website and mobile app.
The ICP emphasized that this innovation isn’t limited to renewals. It also covers first-time passport issuances, offering greater flexibility and convenience to Emiratis.
To guide users, the authority has released a detailed video showing how easy and quick the new procedures are. ICP staff stationed at airports are also available round the clock to support travelers.
