Saudi Arabia gives visitors with expired visas 60 days to leave without penalty

Saudi Arabia’s General Directorate of Passports has launched a 60-day grace period allowing all visitors with expired visit visas to exit the country legally—without facing additional penalties.

The grace period began on the first day of Safar 1447 AH, which corresponds to July 26, 2025, and covers all visit visa categories. During this window, eligible individuals can apply to extend their expired visas solely for the purpose of final departure.

In its official advisory, the Directorate encouraged affected visitors to settle any outstanding fines or dues via the “Sadad” payment system before proceeding with the visa extension and departure formalities.

The move is part of Saudi Arabia’s ongoing efforts to improve procedures for handling residency violations, while also reflecting the Kingdom’s commitment to humanitarian principles and administrative flexibility.

Authorities urged individuals to act within the given timeframe to avoid legal consequences and complete their exit through secure and organized channels.
