In a time when most teenagers are still figuring out who they want to be, one Filipina student in the UAE has already found her purpose. Juliana Rendon Vidal, a Grade 12 student based in Abu Dhabi, isn’t just focused on classes and campus life—she’s also holding a title that’s giving her the opportunity to advocate for something far bigger than herself.
Juliana is the current Mutya ng Kasarinlan 2025 Charity titleholder, a recognition she carries with deep humility and conviction. Born and raised in Abu Dhabi to hardworking OFW parents, she has embraced a life shaped by multicultural experiences and a deep sense of responsibility to her Filipino roots. “I am deeply honored to carry a title that represents compassion, service, and purpose,” she said.
Using the crown to amplify causes that matter

Juliana didn’t join the pageant circuit for glitz or glory—it was a choice anchored in advocacy. “What I appreciate most about this role is the opportunity it gave me to use my voice for something meaningful—especially my advocacy for education,” she said. Her passion for learning and the desire to help others access it has become the heart of her journey.
Even at a young age, Juliana has realized that influence doesn’t have to wait. “It gave me the confidence to speak up, to lead with kindness, and to inspire others to give back in their own ways,” she added. She believes that beauty should not only be seen but felt—in the way one serves others, lifts communities, and dares to dream boldly.
The pageant platform, for her, was a stepping stone to a much larger mission. “Holding onto this title is not just a moment in my life—it’s a mission I will carry with me into everything I do,” she said with resolve.
Born and raised abroad, yet grounded in Filipino values
Juliana was born in 2009 in Abu Dhabi, where she has spent her entire life. Growing up overseas gave her a unique lens through which she sees the world—one filled with cultural exchange, tolerance, and a deeper appreciation for opportunity. “We are blessed to have given the opportunities to work abroad especially here in the UAE, living in one of the safest countries in the world,” she reflected.
But with those privileges, Juliana also recognizes the duty that comes with it. “With all the given privileges comes a deep sense of responsibility—to represent our home countries with pride, to uphold strong values of integrity and respect, and to contribute meaningfully to the diverse and vibrant society we are now part of.”
She adds that living in the UAE has not only exposed her to different perspectives, but also shaped her into someone more adaptive, understanding, and globally aware. “Every day is a reminder of how fortunate we are to be in a place that values innovation, safety and unity,” she said.
Looking ahead to a future built on education and advocacy
Juliana’s dreams don’t stop at winning pageant titles. She envisions starting a foundation dedicated to educating children—an aspiration inspired not only by her own passion, but also by the values instilled in her by her parents. “They have always believed, as I do, that education is the most powerful tool to break the cycle of poverty and uplift communities for generations to come,” she shared.
While many might see her dream as lofty, she sees it as entirely within reach. “I truly believe that every child deserves the chance to learn and grow, no matter where they come from,” Juliana said. She hopes to provide support through school supplies, scholarships, and programs that help children believe in their potential.
Joining Mutya ng Kasarinlan became more than just a competition for her—it became a declaration of purpose. “It showed me that even at 16, I can already start making a difference,” she said.
Her parting message is a call to action for young Filipinos worldwide: “To all the young generations like me, do not stop and believe in your dreams… let’s make it happen!”
