Kooya Filipino Eatery bids farewell to Marina, finds new home in Deira

After nearly four years of serving modern Filipino cuisine in Dubai Marina, Kooya Filipino Eatery has announced it is closing its original location and temporarily relocating to a new space at China Club in Radisson Blu Hotel, Deira Creek.

The beloved Filipino restaurant, founded by Chef JP Anglo, shared the update via Instagram, expressing heartfelt gratitude to loyal patrons who made memories over weekday lunches, birthday gatherings, and family reunions. “Marina, you’ve been so good to us,” the post read.

Kooya Marina will continue operations until August 3 for dine-in and delivery, with its final weekend of service running from August 2 to August 4. Deliveries from the Marina branch will remain available until August 15.

Beginning August 1, Kooya will reopen in Deira Creek, serving the full menu along with new experimental dishes made possible by a bigger kitchen. The team also teased upcoming offerings, including beer and cocktails.

The eatery, known for its elevated take on Filipino staples such as kare-kare, chicken inasal, and sisig, plans to use the transition period for research and development, hinting at more innovations to come. A future branch at Dubai Festival Mall is also in the works.

No reservations are needed at either location, and guests are welcome to walk in. Operating hours at Radisson Blu are Sunday to Thursday, 12 PM to 11 PM, and Friday to Saturday, 12 PM to 12 AM.

Kooya assures its fans this move isn’t goodbye—just a new chapter with more space, better ventilation, and colder beer.
