SSS heads to Dubai: OFWs can update records, claim benefits, and ask questions in person

The Social Security System (SSS) is among the key Philippine government agencies participating in the much-anticipated “Bagong Bayani ng Mundo: OFW Serbisyo Caravan” happening on August 3, 2025, at the Dubai World Trade Centre, Hall 8, from 8:00 AM to 8:00 PM.

In a dedicated effort to make government services more accessible to Overseas Filipino Workers (OFWs) in the UAE, SSS will provide a range of essential services onsite. These include inquiries and verification, acceptance of Member Data Change, acceptance of Annual Confirmation of Pensioner (ACOP), and assistance with online services.

In line with this, SSS will also have flyers available to guide OFWs on their benefits and loan entitlements under the Social Security (SS) Program for OFWs—which, as stated, is now compulsory for all sea-based and land-based Filipino workers.

Benefits and loans available for OFWs:
Retirement Benefit: Monthly pension or lump sum for members unable to work due to old age.

Death Benefit: Cash benefit for the beneficiaries of deceased members.

Funeral Benefit: Assistance for funeral expenses of a deceased, permanently disabled, or retired member.

Disability Benefit: Monthly pension or lump sum for members who become disabled.

Sickness Benefit: Daily allowance for members unable to work due to illness or injury.

Maternity Benefit: Daily cash assistance for women unable to work due to childbirth, miscarriage, or pregnancy complications.

Unemployment Benefit: Cash assistance for involuntarily separated or unemployed members.

Salary Loan: Short-term credit support for eligible members.

Calamity Loan: Assistance for those affected by disasters or property damage.

Pension Loan: Financial support for retirement pensioners at low interest and with no ATM card collateral required.

Attendees may also pay their Pag-IBIG contributions through the remittance center available onsite, offering added convenience for OFWs who wish to fulfill obligations in a one-stop venue.

The SSS booth is part of a wider caravan effort spearheaded by the Department of Migrant Workers (DMW), supported by the Philippine Consulate General in Dubai, OWWA, DSWD, Pag-IBIG Fund, and other Philippine government offices. The caravan aims to deliver critical services such as national ID registration, CENOMAR issuance, social aid, loan consultations, legal assistance, and more.

No pre-registration is required for the event. All Filipino residents in the UAE are encouraged to come early and take advantage of the government services offered under one roof.
