Close to a thousand overseas Filipino workers (OFWs) are expected to gather at the Philippine School Doha on Friday, July 25, for the Bagong Bayani ng Mundo Serbisyo Caravan—a one-day outreach bringing vital government services directly to Filipinos in Qatar.
Of the anticipated attendees, 650 have already secured their slots through pre-registration. The initiative, spearheaded by the Department of Migrant Workers (DMW) alongside other key agencies, aims to streamline access to services such as contract verification, Balik Manggagawa processing, legal aid, financial literacy sessions, and reintegration support.
“Through the Serbisyo Caravan, we are bringing the government closer to our modern-day heroes,” said DMW Undersecretary Jainal T. Rasul. “The services offered reflect our shared responsibility to protect, assist, and empower every Filipino worker here in Qatar.”
Rasul emphasized that the program aligns with President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr.’s vision of Bagong Pilipinas, where comprehensive and accessible public service reaches Filipinos across the globe.
A multi-agency effort, the caravan will feature representatives from the DMW, Philippine Embassy in Qatar, OWWA, DSWD, Pag-IBIG, SSS, Land Bank, PRC, PSA, and PAO. Free medical checkups will also be available courtesy of the Philippine Professional Organization in Qatar (PPOQ), while PSD students will provide entertainment and cultural performances throughout the day.
