A Filipino photographer based in Dubai is celebrating a long-awaited win after bagging Dh50,000 in Big Ticket Abu Dhabi’s weekly e-draw.
Dennis Mallari, who has been living in the UAE for years, shared the prize with a group of fellow photographers and close friends who had been regularly buying tickets together. Their winning number, 126402, was purchased earlier this month as part of their monthly tradition.
Speaking to Gulf News, Mallari said, “I bought tickets early in the month for a chance to win the weekly draw. This time, I bought with my friends. We’re all photographers.”
It’s a hopeful routine they’ve stuck to since 2012, dreaming of someday hitting the grand prize. While this isn’t the jackpot they’ve been aiming for, the Dh50,000 prize brings a powerful sense of encouragement.
“We are dreaming of the big one, but even the consolation prize is a blessing,” he said.
Mallari and his friends remain optimistic, with plans to continue their ticket-buying ritual. “We will keep buying until we get the big win,” he added.
