Awra Briguela finishes high school, opens up about struggle, gratitude, and redemption

Awra Briguela has officially graduated from high school, marking a deeply personal milestone after years of setbacks and self-doubt.

The young actress and comedienne took to Instagram to share her graduation photos from the University of the East, alongside an emotional message of gratitude and reflection.

“Gusto ko lang magpasalamat sa lahat ng taong naniwala at nagtiwala sa akin, lalo na sa sarili kong minsang inakala na hindi ko kaya,” Awra wrote.

After a five-year break from school due to the pandemic and personal challenges, she admitted that returning to the classroom wasn’t easy. Awra felt left behind—but instead of giving in, she fought hard to move forward.

“Pinatunayan ko sa sarili ko na kaya ko, at ang pagdududa lang talaga ang kalaban,” she said, describing how self-doubt became her toughest hurdle.

She also recalled feeling awkward at first, joining classes late when her peers had already bonded. But over time, her classmates and teachers embraced her, making the journey lighter. “At ngayon, ang mga taong ‘yon, maituturing ko nang tunay na mga kaibigan,” she said.

Awra extended her heartfelt thanks to her school principals for believing in her potential and for giving her a second chance to catch up. She also expressed her deep appreciation to Vice Ganda, who played a crucial role in her academic journey.

“Kung hindi niyo po siguro sinabi na naniniwala kayo sa akin, baka hindi rin ako naniwala sa sarili ko na kaya ko,” she wrote, promising not to disappoint those who supported her.

As she looks ahead to college, Awra said she’s adopting a new mindset—no longer settling just to pass. “Sipag at tiwala sa sarili lang ulit at alam kong magagawa ko ulit ‘to,” she added.

Fellow celebrities Sassa Gurl and Zeinab Harake were quick to send their love and congratulations, with Zeinab writing: “Super proud ako sayo… palagi lang andito si ate para sayo.”

Awra’s graduation comes a year after she made headlines for her arrest following a brawl in Makati. After posting bail and submitting a counter-affidavit, she has since kept a low profile—focusing instead on education and personal growth.

In a previous post, she shared a touching video of herself showing her grades to Vice Ganda, saying, “This is all for you.”
