Zanjoe Marudo’s new film finally hits UAE cinemas with meet and greet this month

After an earlier postponement, Zanjoe Marudo’s much-anticipated film How To Get Away From My Toxic Family is officially hitting UAE cinemas — and fans are in for a special treat. The emotionally charged movie will now be screened at Star Cinema DXB in Al Ghurair Mall, Dubai on Saturday, July 26, and at Star Cinema AUH in Al Wahda Mall, Abu Dhabi on Sunday, July 27. Both shows will start at 6 PM, with ticket prices set at AED 150 for Prime and AED 125 for Regular seats.

Adding more excitement, each screening will feature a meet and greet with Zanjoe Marudo himself, giving fans a rare chance to connect with the actor behind the film’s powerful portrayal of Arsenio — a man struggling to break free from the emotional weight of a toxic family dynamic.

Written by John Bedia and directed by Law Fajardo, the film is a production of OgieD Productions Inc. in partnership with KreativDen Entertainment. It explores mental health, generational trauma, and the quiet courage required to choose peace over familial obligation. Ogie Diaz, the film’s producer, said the message of the film speaks directly to Filipinos everywhere, especially OFWs.

Starring a powerhouse cast including Susan Africa, Nonie Buencamino, Richard Quan, Lesley Lina, Juharra Asayo, and Keena Pineda, the movie is poised to resonate deeply with overseas Filipinos who have faced the emotional turmoil of choosing distance for the sake of personal healing.

Tickets are now available, with flexible payment options including Tabby and Tamara. For ticket inquiries and sponsorship opportunities, interested parties may email mktg@srkeducationgroupinternational.com or call +971-54-299-1588.
