Chef JP Anglo brings Pinoy food experience to Old Dubai’s Radisson Blu

A vibrant fusion of heritage and culinary innovation is stirring in Old Dubai this summer, as Kooya Filipino Eatery takes over the iconic China Club kitchen at Radisson Blu Hotel, Dubai Deira Creek.

Throughout July, food enthusiasts can indulge in a menu curated by renowned Filipino chef JP Anglo, who is bringing his signature flair for contemporary Filipino cuisine to one of Dubai’s most historic dining locations. The collaboration runs every Friday to Sunday from 12 p.m. to 12 a.m., offering a bold, modern interpretation of Filipino favorites.

Chef Anglo, the Bacolod-born culinary force behind the Manila-based Sarsa and Dubai’s Kooya Filipino Eatery, said the takeover is about more than just food. “Filipino cuisine deserves a place on the global table,” he emphasized. “It’s a cuisine shaped by many influences, familiar yet distinct, and it’s time the world discovered just how extraordinary our food really is.”

Guests can expect a thoughtful menu that balances comfort and creativity — from crowd-pleasers to underrepresented regional dishes. One standout, according to Chef JP, is his take on palabok, a traditional noodle dish that he describes as “uniquely Filipino, endlessly adaptable.”

Set against the backdrop of Radisson Blu’s storied location — a fixture in Deira since 1975 — the pop-up invites both kababayans craving a taste of home and curious diners eager to explore Filipino culinary depth.

“The energy in Old Dubai is unlike anywhere else in the city,” Chef JP shared. “We’re not just serving food — we’re creating memories and conversations around the table.”

As part of the summer celebration, the hotel is also offering a “Summer Deal at the Creek,” with room rates starting at AED 200, plus additional perks like breakfast options and jewellery vouchers from Tanishq Middle East. The offer runs until August 30, 2025, making it easy for guests to turn their foodie weekend into a full getaway.
