Torre says missing sabungeros may have been buried in multiple locations, not just Taal Lake

Philippine National Police (PNP) Chief Nicolas Torre III revealed that the bodies of the missing sabungeros and alleged drug personalities may have been disposed of in locations beyond Taal Lake.

In a press briefing, Torre said their investigation points to the likelihood that the victims’ remains were dumped in various areas. “Hindi lang sa lake ang disposal, may ibang areas pa ‘yan at ine-examine na namin,” he stated, declining to reveal specific details while the probe is ongoing.

Torre assured the public that the PNP is committed to supporting any retrieval operations aimed at recovering the bodies. “Hindi naman ibig sabihin na challenging, hindi na natin gagawin,” he emphasized, stressing the need to exhaust all efforts, even if the tasks are difficult or dangerous.

He also confirmed that several police officers allegedly involved in the abduction and killing of the missing men have been placed under restrictive custody. “We have partnered with NAPOLCOM for the in-depth investigation of this case to ensure transparency and impartiality,” Torre added.

The top police official hinted that more officers could be implicated, saying, “Baka akalain n’yo ’15 lang, baka mas marami pa.” He vowed that the PNP would not stop until every angle is investigated.
