A fresh leak is fueling hype around the upcoming iPhone 17 Pro Max, hinting at a game-changing upgrade in battery life. If the report holds true, Apple’s newest flagship could carry the largest battery ever fitted into an iPhone.
The leak, shared by Weibo user Instant Digital and highlighted by Forbes, suggests that the iPhone 17 Pro Max may come with a battery nearing 5,000mAh. That’s a sizeable jump from the 4,676mAh unit inside the iPhone 16 Pro Max — and could translate to even longer usage on a single charge.
Apple hasn’t confirmed any of the details, but rumors suggest the phone may be slightly thicker than its predecessor, increasing by about half a millimeter. That added space could be what allows for the extra battery capacity without sacrificing design.
Battery life has consistently been one of the most requested improvements among iPhone users. Apple has steadily boosted endurance with each release, with the iPhone 16 Pro Max already boasting 33 hours — up from just 20 hours on the iPhone 12 Pro Max. Experts believe the upcoming model could push that figure past 35 hours.
Camera upgrades are also reportedly in the pipeline. According to MacRumors, both the iPhone 17 Pro Max and iPhone 17 Pro are expected to feature three 48MP rear cameras and a sharper 24MP front-facing shooter.
