Mukbang Shows Restaurant: Savoring Korean delights while supporting education in the Philippines

United by a love of authentic Korean cuisine and a dedication to philanthropy, the Mukbang Shows Restaurant is making waves in the UAE not just for its gastronomic delights but also for its noble mission.

Owned by Filipina national Jenifer and US citizen Douglas, the dynamic duo has successfully brought a unique dining concept to life, with Douglas being the brainchild behind the restaurant.

With branches in Dubai and Abu Dhabi, the Filipino-owned Korean barbecue restaurant brings the vibrant flavors of Korea to the region, all while contributing to a significant cause – supporting the education of children in the Philippines. Additionally, the restaurants urge guests not to waste food as they actively support an organization in the Philippines, the Crosspoint Christ-centred Ministry International.

This organization supports 10 kids, conducts feeding programs, supports building churches, helps pastors, and provides a livelihood program to the tribes in Palawan.

Inspired by mukbang, the South Korean phenomenon where a host eats copious amounts of food while engaging with an audience, Mukbang Shows Restaurant offers a diverse range of a la carte dishes. The highlight of their menu is the live barbecue, featuring unlimited servings of high-quality cuts such as Wagyu, tenderloin, strip loin, and rib-eye steaks.

Patrons can immerse themselves not only in the delectable Korean cuisine but also in the rich culture displayed within the interiors of the restaurant. Traditional Korean attire and artifacts adorn the spaces, providing customers with a holistic and authentic dining experience.

Mukbang Shows Restaurant operates in key locations in Abu Dhabi – on Muroor Road near Al Wahda Mall, and on Electra Street behind City Seasons Hotel – as well as in Dubai, next to the Deira bus station.

Beyond its culinary endeavors, the restaurant is deeply committed to giving back. A portion of Mukbang Shows Restaurant’s revenue is channeled to Crosspoint Christ-centred Ministry International, a religious organization based in Oriental Mindoro, Philippines. The contributions are utilized to provide essential school supplies like notebooks, bags, and pens to children, fostering education and making a substantial difference in their lives. The restaurant’s support extends to encouraging sustainable consumption practices, further emphasizing their dedication to making a positive impact both locally and internationally.
