Dubai fitness challenge returns: register now for a month of free fitness activities

Dubai’s renowned fitness initiative, the Dubai Fitness Challenge (DFC), is back for its seventh edition and is set to electrify the city with an array of free fitness events and activities from October 28 to November 26.

Event highlights

Dubai Stand-Up Paddle: An exciting new addition, taking place on November 18 in the scenic Hatta region, where participants can engage in guided training sessions, a mass challenge event, and a tranquil sunset yoga session. Complimentary transportation and top-quality boards will be provided.

Dubai Run: Presented by Mai Dubai and supported by Sun and Sand Sports, this global-scale free fun run will close out the challenge on November 26. In its previous edition, the event witnessed a record-breaking participation of 193,000 individuals.

Dubai Ride: Scheduled for November 12 and presented by DP World, this event promises families and cycling aficionados a memorable journey past Dubai’s iconic landmarks on Sheikh Zayed Road and Downtown Dubai.

Participants of the DFC are encouraged to complete the 30×30 challenge — dedicating 30 minutes to physical activity daily for 30 days.

Venues and features

This year, DFC will boast three 30-day fitness villages, including the fan-favorite DP World Kite Beach Fitness Village and the newly introduced RTA Mushrif Park Cycle Centre, equipped with guided bike trails, a pump track, and complimentary bike rental services.

With over 600 free fitness sessions and more than 400 hours of activities planned against Dubai’s majestic skyline, participants will be spoiled for choice. In addition, 25 community fitness hubs spread across locations such as Dubai Silicon Oasis, Hatta, and Dubai Police Officers Club will offer free sports and fitness classes.

Organizers’ take

Ahmed Al Khaja, CEO of Dubai Festivals and Retail Establishment (DFRE), emphasized the city’s ambition to be recognized as one of the world’s most active cities. He pledged that this year’s edition would provide an “even greater and more inclusive array of fitness activities and events.”

Saeed Hareb, secretary-general of Dubai Sports Council (DSC), highlighted the long-term impact of the initiative, noting that many have adopted regular physical activity after past DFCs, reaping significant benefits for their physical and mental well-being.

Those eager to take part in this year’s challenge can register on the official Dubai Fitness Challenge website.
