Cebuano wins P102M lotto jackpot after using family birthdays as lucky numbers

A man from Cebu turned his family’s birthdates into a winning formula, bagging over ₱102 million in the Lotto 6/42 jackpot draw held on June 3, 2025.

The Philippine Charity Sweepstakes Office (PCSO) confirmed that the lucky winner claimed the ₱102,346,298.00 prize at their main office in Mandaluyong City last June 11. The life-changing combination — 05-22-14-03-23-11 — was generated using dates and ages of his loved ones.

The winning ticket was purchased on May 27 at a lotto outlet in South Town Center, Talisay City, Cebu. Thanks to the Advance Draw Play feature, the bettor had secured entries for five consecutive draws — including the winning one — without having to return to the outlet each time.

“Lagi po akong tumataya ng advance, madalas one-week advance po para hindi na ako pabalik-balik sa outlet,” the winner shared. When he saw the winning numbers posted, he felt immediate jitters. “Noong nakita ko po ang resulta, kaba po agad ang naramdaman tapos paulit-ulit ko pong chineck. At ‘yun nga po, sobrang saya ko na lahat ng numero ko tumama.”

He plans to use the jackpot to secure his children’s education and invest in property for the future.

The PCSO emphasized that the Advance Draw Play feature offers convenience and ensures players don’t miss out on their chosen combinations. As per PCSO guidelines, jackpot winners must claim their prize within a year of the draw and are required to pay a 20% tax on winnings above ₱10,000 under the TRAIN Law.
