Philippine Embassy in Qatar urges Filipinos to shelter in place amid escalating regional conflict

The Philippine Embassy in Qatar has issued an urgent advisory for all Filipino nationals in the country to remain indoors and shelter in place until further notice, following Iran’s missile strikes targeting US military bases in the region.

In an official statement posted on social media, the Embassy called on Filipinos to “continue monitoring the news and heed the advisories issued by local authorities and the Embassy.” The alert comes as explosions were reported across Doha and Lusail on Monday evening, shortly after Qatar closed its airspace in response to the unfolding crisis.

The missile attacks, reportedly launched by Iran as retaliation for earlier US strikes on its nuclear sites, have triggered heightened security responses across the Gulf. In Bahrain, air raid sirens were activated and residents were advised to move to secure areas, as the country’s air defense system went on high alert.
