President Ferdinand “Bongbong” Marcos Jr. and First Lady Liza Araneta-Marcos paid a special visit to the Philippine Pavilion at the World Expo 2025 in Osaka, Japan on Friday, spotlighting the country’s rich heritage and craftsmanship on the global stage.
The First Couple was given a guided tour inside the pavilion, which proudly features more than 200 handwoven panels crafted by Filipino master weavers from different regions. These intricate works of art represent the largest collaboration of Filipino weavers ever assembled for a global event.
Joining them during the walk-through were Tourism Secretary Christina Frasco and Deputy Speaker Duke Frasco. The Philippine Pavilion’s design includes a dynamic façade that opens throughout the day to feature live cultural performances, further immersing visitors in Filipino identity and creativity.
President Marcos also explored Japan’s own contribution to the Expo—the circular Japan Pavilion themed “Between Lives.” The exhibit encourages visitors to reflect on their lifestyle choices and adopt more sustainable behaviors in pursuit of a more resilient future.
