Carlos Yulo captures fourth straight gold in floor exercise at Asian Gymnastics tilt

Filipino gymnastics star Carlos Yulo proved once again why he’s a force to be reckoned with, securing his fourth consecutive gold medal in the floor exercise at the 12th Senior Asian Artistic Gymnastics Championships held in Jecheon, South Korea on Saturday, June 7.

The 25-year-old delivered a show-stopping routine that earned him 14.600 points—highlighted by a 5.7 difficulty rating and a polished execution score of 8.8. His precise landings and dynamic movements drew admiration from the crowd and high marks from the judges.

Yulo edged out Kazakhstan’s Milad Karimi, who took silver for the second year in a row with a score of 14.400. South Korea’s Moon Geonyoung, initially listed as a reserve, pulled off a surprising bronze finish despite a 0.300-point deduction for stepping out of bounds, ending with 14.033.

The gold came on the heels of Yulo’s bronze finish in the individual all-around, showcasing his consistent performance across events.

Yulo is eyeing more medals, with his campaign continuing in the rings event and upcoming appearances in the vault, parallel bars, and horizontal bar finals scheduled for Sunday, June 8. Fellow Filipino gymnast John Ivan Cruz is also in the running for a podium finish in the vault.
